Blue Angels pilot takes reporter on wild ride

So here we are Wednesday on the tarmac at Quonset.

I'm suited up and ready to get into an F-18 with a Blue Angels pilot.

I'm excited so let's fly.

Lt. Dave Tickle is behind the controls as we're cleared for take off.

The afterburners come on and within seconds, we're up and cruising south past Newport. I'm out over the Atlantic Ocean and breaking the speed of sound at more than 600 mph.

The maneuvers at 20,000 feet are a true testament to the pilots keeping fit.

G's or that force of gravity can knock you out if you're not breathing properly. The skin on my face peels back as we hit 7 Gs.

After 45 minutes in the sky, I touchdown.

There isn't a roller coaster in the world than can compete.

I thank Lt. Tickle for a wild ride.

I've played a lot of sports over the years, but never sweated like I did on a flight with the Blue Angels.
