Bella Italia: Traveling to Italy is an unforgettable experience

When we are asked what our favorite site in Italy was we answer that the whole country is our favorite! How can you choose between the history in Rome, the quaint seaside town of Sorrento, the artwork in Florence, the ruins of Pompeii, the leaning tower in Pisa, the drive along the Amalfi coast or the beauty of Naples? All of Italy will captivate you. Florence itself is a work of art with its towering cathedrals, enchanting narrow cobblestone streets, delicate works of art on the faces of the historic buildings and the incredible works of art in the churches and museums. The huge Il Duomo Cathedral built in 1296 with its intricate art work on the façade and its huge dome is known as Florence's Cathedral. The other large Cathedral is called Santa Croce is where Michalangelo, Galileo and Machiavelli are all buried. The charming Vecchio Bridge, built in 1355, was the only bridge that was not destroyed by the Germans in World War II and is now lined with fun shops. The Accademia Gallery is where the famous statue of David is housed as well as countless other works of art. Winding around steep peaks with the dark blue Mediterranean far below, you will come upon the wonderful towns built into the sides of the cliffs along the picturesque Amalfi coast. The views are absolutely spectacular as you pass the fragrant lemon groves and olive trees that cover the sides of the hills. It is everything you have ever seen in pictures and more! I haven't even mentioned the beautiful marble leaning tower of Pisa, with its equally beautiful cathedral and baptistery or the wonderful city of Naples over looking the Mediterranean. Or for shoppers, the shopping for leather goods, cameos, jewelry and artwork. There is just too much to see and do in Italy to write about in one article, you had better go see it for yourself!
