Nokia joins dual-SIM fray

With more Filipinos now using more than one telco provider for their mobile needs, leading mobile phone manufacturer Nokia Philippines recently introduced its latest dual SIM mobile phone to compete with locally-made ones, thereby penetrating the low-end market.

Two Nokia phones, Nokia X1-01 and Nokia C2-00, will be available next month in the market at affordable prices—starting at P1990.

"The Nokia X1-01 and Nokia C2-00 pack more memory, better battery life , and far richer SIM change and entertainment features than other dual SIM products currently in the market " said Benoit Nalin, general manager of Nokia Philippines.

The unique features of Nokia dual SIM, Nalin said, is that the phone can store the settings for up to five SIM cards, whether its Globe, Smart, Sun, Red Mobile, or Talk’ N Text.

With this technology, users can completely personalize dual SIM , they can give SIM cards a name, a dedicated logo and even set a specific MP3 ringtone for each of the SIM cards.

With easy swap, users can change a SIM card without turning off the phone or removing the battery.

Of the estimated 90 million mobile phone users in the Philippines about 21 percent own more than one SIM which is higher compared to the rest of emerging Asia mobile phone users according to study done by TNS Global.

With the growing number of multiple SIM users in the country, Nokia said its customer asked them to create a dual SIM phone, to help them manage costs, so customer can use different plans on the same devices to save money.

And for those frequent travelers, they can set up one account for their home country and a completely different one for another region or country to save money from expensive roaming charges.

Nokia C2-00, is the first mobile phone with easy swap, a whole new dual SIM experience allowing users to conveniently change SIM without turning off, removing & reassembling the phone.

It has massive memory capacity of up to 32 gigabits. It has original accessories of 16 GB micro SD card MU-44, Nokia mini speaker , Nokia data cable and Nokia bicycle charger with long Battery life, standby time of up to 19.2 days and talk time of up to 5 hours.

Nokia X1-01 a music phone , can store and shuffle thousands of songs, be if from your own DJ and create your own playlist , play music out loud up to 36 hours . It has bult in loud speaker ( up to 106 phon) , with stereo FM radio , it also can support up to 16 GB micro SD memory card.
