William-Sonoma Opens Online Doors to Global Customers

In a move that will greatly expand its customer base by adding online shoppers in 75 new countries, Williams-Sonoma ( WSM ) said on Monday it will soon start shipping its products abroad. 

The specialty retailer of home and kitchen products said it is partnering with FiftyOne Global Ecommerce to conduct the international transactions.

Customers will be able to purchase items in their own currency, and the final checkout price will include all international duties, taxes and delivery costs, with a guaranteed exchange rate.

“This is a true milestone for Williams-Sonoma ,” Laura Alber, the company’s chief executive said in a statement. “Our brands have a strong presence in the U.S. and Canada and it’s exciting for customers around the world to now have access to the high quality home furnishings that we offer.”

The company's PBteen, Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids brands are already available for global shipping, with West Elm, Williams-Sonoma expected to follow by the end of the month.

Its brands sell anything from bedding, decorative accessories and kids’ storage to kitchen tools, lighting and select furniture.

It had been a long time since I had visited the Consignment Galleries.  I love them both.  One is in Amherst on 74 Route 101A.   The other Consignment Gallery is located at 294 South River Road in Bedford.  By appointment, you can have your items prequalified to become part of the gallery inventory and reap as much as 65% of the purchase price of the item! The nice thing about The Consignment Gallery is that the items showcased there are really displayed nicely.  It is easy to saunter through the aisles admiring each piece of furniture, house wares, décor, or even jewelry that appeals your senses.  The sales floor is spacious and well light in both stores.  There is a place for everything. Below is a really rare piece of furniture that you probably won't find at your local department or furniture store.  It looks like some type of wrought iron table with a shiny top that looks like mother of pearl.  The table has a glass top I believe and encases the most precious shells, and other collections from the sea in a bed of soft white beach sand.  This was priced at only $97 in the Bedford gallery.
