Cut-Cap Balance
Cut, Cap, Balance. This is a plan put forward by Let Freedom Ring USA and other organizations to try and get our budget under control before America faces fiscal ruin. There is a petition on the internet you can sign if you agree. Just type in Cut, Cap, Balance Pledge and it will take you there. So what is it.
Cut: Make mandatory spending reductions and discretionary reductions that would cut the deficit in half next year. We must cut now, not over 10 years. Balance: Pass a balanced budget amendment. This is difficult. It required a two thirds vote in both houses. It is then sent to the States for ratification. It would have to be passed by three fourths of the States. But why should the federal government be exempt from what must be done in your house, my house, cities, counties, and all but one state.
We have dug this hole so deep I honestly don’t know if we can fill it up, but we have to fight if we want to preserve our way of life. This fight is going to be painful, and don’t get me wrong, it will be a fight. It is likely we will have rioting in the streets when the government handouts are cut back. People get used to being on the dole and scream like h___ when the freebes are cut off. It is also highly likely that the 50% that are not paying taxes will have to contribute. The reality is that every man woman and child owes $46,000.00 right now and this administration wants to add another $8100.00 to that. They are arguing now over 4 trillion in cuts OVER 10 YEARS. We can’t live with that. At the current deficit during that 10 years we would add 16 trillion to the debt. Take away the 4 trillion and we would still add 12 trillion to the debt bringing it to a grand total of over 26 trillion dollars. That is $78,000.00 for every man, woman, and child. That is bankruptcy, and we are Greece but there is no one, even the entire world that could bail us out. If you don’t know history, you are doomed to repeat it. Of course, countries can’t declare bankruptcy, so what they do is debase (nice word for inflate) their currency. How would you like it if every time you went to the store that loaf of bread was up another dollar. We would be forced to choose. Food or car payment, food or house payment, food or utilities. We would of course choose food. I think you can see where this ends up. The same place it ended for the Roman Empire, the Weimar Republic and others. I think I will sign that pledge.

I was drinking coffee with Earnie Bell the other day and he suggested that if our soldiers were so good at building roads and bridges maybe we should bring them back over here and put them to work on ours.
