Spanish star: Spotlight on Manchester United-bound goalkeeper David de Gea

Along with a few other posters on here, I have been very privileged indeed to see three of the greatest goalkeepers on Earth who have played for us. Each of these guys would not have been out of place representing a World eleven: Harry Gregg, Peter Schmeichel, and Edwin van der Sar were superb keepers. Each one of these legends was very professional in all aspects of what it takes to be a real Manchester United player. I am delighted to submit the name, David de Gea, as a very strong contender to join that illustrious trio. I am very optimistic about his future. He ticks all the right boxes on his CV, with perhaps his age being the only factor in causing any concern? But what the hell, being young has never been an obstruction to any player progressing to great heights within our Club. I am certain that he is already one of the best in Europe and he will continue to improve. If he is ready for the Premier League, then that is a bit of a concern, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I would also get his team mate with the Spain U/21 team....Thiago Alcantara....goodness me what a player. He will be much better than what we have right now and all the players that are being mentioned for our midfield. True, there is always the risk that he would want to go back in a few years time, but so brilliant is this player that he is worth the risk. I think he is a great keeper and yes a lot of people will question his age but he has proven a lot of doubter wrong.Last season he was fantastic and is improving a lot in every game he plays in. I have watched a lot of the U21 championship and some of his saves and performances have been world class. For what I have seen he similar to VDS but his advantage is his age and his improvements too. He is very confident and is in charge of his penalty box. I would love to see us sign another spaniard in javi martinez for central midfield,ive watched some of him in the u21 tournament and he keeps the ball really well,passes beautifully,plays deep as a defensive midfielder but also can push forward and play the killer pass,has the ability to beat players and is physically big and strong so could play playmaker defensive and attacking roles,i think he'd really suit us. I like what I see. Just hope he doesn't have the infamous "i've always dreamed of playing for Real Madrid" syndrome! Last season was a strange season that turned out way above any legitimate expectations I might have had 12 months ago.

Travelling to Seoul - G20 Protest Danger - Alert Map - South Korea ...

Travellers have been warned that visiting South Korea could be hazardous this week, with tens of thousands of activists protesting against the G20 Summit in Seoul, South Korea.



Nearly 8000 officers were deployed to disperse the protesters, who gathered at both Seoul railway station and Seoul City Hall Plaza in separate events.



Police put the Plaza attendance estimate at 20,000 - whereas event organisers had the figure closer to 40,000.

It has been reported that the bulk of the protests have been peaceful, and almost "festive".



However, a small group of activists clashed with officers while pushing toward the city centre, which lead to police use of pepper spray.



It is expected that more protests will be held in the lead up to the main summit, which will be held on the 11th - 12th November.

Is there a risk?

Protest organisers say that as the summit nears, protests will remain peaceful as long as police do not use excessive force.

Seoul Police - who will number close to 50,000 during the event to deal with protesters, international terrorists and violent threats from North Korea - have warned that there will be no tolerance of disruptive behaviour or violence whatsoever. Police have been put on a "Level 3" alert.

A designated protest area has been established in Seoul's Olympic Park, just outside of the 2km exclusion zone for the summit, but it is likely unauthorised protests will be held in other areas.



Travel warnings have been issued by several countries, including the United States and Australia, to avoid potential protest areas and key summit locations.
